Old Hybrid Tea
This group of roses, (Hybrid Musk roses, Teas and Hybrid Tea roses, Polyanthas, Floribundas, Modern Shrub roses, and Pimpinellifolia) vary widely in ancestry and description. They were created by various breeders who crossed Species and other older roses with various types of modern roses. Freestanding and often remontant, Shrub Roses are useful in the garden as relatively carefree and vigorous specimens, blooming later than most other roses. Although technically shrub roses too, the English, Rugosa and Species Roses are generally put in separate categories since they have distinctly different needs and uses.
